DDS Varsity Soccer Report v Kildonan on Wednesday October 10th

A beautiful day to play soccer. Occasional light rain and a cool gentle breeze made this game a very pleasant spectacle. The game ended 4-0 to DDS, but by half time only one goal had found it's way in to the Kildonan net. This scoreline flattered our enthusiastic but disorganized opposition who found it very difficult to get the ball out of their own half. Time and time again, the DDS players urged on by Hudson, brought the ball in to the penalty area, only to be denied by desperate defenders and sloppy finishing. The only goal of the half came when Jackson set up Griffin with a fine pass for the gifted midfielder to ram the ball home. Danielle, in goal for the first half, had very little to do but showed her worth when she dived bravely at the feet of a Kildonan forward to deny him a route to goal. The second half was more productive in terms of goals, with Griffin slotting home a well taken penalty and Kayleigh finding the net twice after a first half of frustrating finishing. Adrienne, Caleb, Sebastian and Danielle all came close to adding more goals, but in the end we had to be content with a game that provided DDS with the majority of possession but light on the goal tally. Once more, solid in defense were Alexa, Golf, Christian, Roan and Jon. Also credit must go to Matthew who had a good second half performance in goal.
