DDS Girls' Lacrosse reports by Ms. Schoch

In a hard-fought, aggressive game, the girls' lacrosse team lost to Mizzentop last Wednesday. Six DDS players scored the team's ten goals---Lucy Roemer, Zoe Wilson, Grace Howland, Sarah Anthony, Denison Smythe, and Isabel Stack. Sophie Perekslis, Hadley Stack, Elizabeth Quartararo, and Aleksa Lambert also lent their support on offense. Claire Shope did an excellent job in goal, with twenty one saves. She had good support from Sawyer Ryan and Maggie Dull on defense.

On Monday, the team played Millbrook School. At the start of the game, DDS jumped out ahead with three unanswered goals, before Millbrook started to fight their way back into the game with hustling, scrappy play. The Tigers had several opportunities to score, but Millbrook's goalie was on fire, and turned back the DDS attack. Even so, five DDS players were able to find the net. Scoring for the Tigers were Lucy Roemer, Zoe Wilson, Sarah Anthony, Isabel Stack, and Elizabeth Quartararo. Hadley Stack and Hannah Hill assisted the offense with many recoveries of missed shots. Hanna Carlin, Sawyer Ryan, and Denison Smythe played tough on defense against Millbrook's strong and bigger players.
