Losing only a total of four matches, the Dutchess Day School Squash team played superbly well against older and in many cases more experienced opposition. Millbrook to be fair put out a weaker team than last time, but the way our players performed was exceptional and it is clear that they are all learning tremendously fast. Lucy, playing at #1 found the going tough against both IMS and Millbrook opponents. The Millbrook game was particularly close. Isabel won both her games at #2 but was pushed to a close 3 setter by her IMS opponent. Sarah, at #3, cruised in with two comfortable wins, while Caleb at #4 took some time getting in to his stride, losing badly to Millbrook but coming back to almost push his IMS opponent to a third game. Zoe (#5) played well with mixed fortunes. She beat her Millbrook opponent comfortably giving up only two points but then met her match with IMS, losing both games 5 and 4. Hadley at #6 demonstrated how much she has improved with wins against both schools. She played very well indeed and deserved her success! Millbrook were unable to put out more than 6 players, but the rest of the DDS team showed their metal against IMS. At #7, Lizzie won both games easily. Kayleigh at #8 also polished off her opponent with ease, and without dropping a point! Denny (#9), Hanna (#10), Andrew (#11) and Hugo (#12) all won their games against IMS in fine style. Hugo and Andrew were playing their first competitive games for DDS and both rose tremendously to the occasion. Below are posted the full results:
