Varsity Soccer Team Report v Mizzentop - Friday September 28th

In front of a pretty decent crowd at the Fall Social, the DDS varsity team won by five goals to two against a lively Mizzentop team. In two games, we have now scored twice as many goals as we have let in! Although the score-line flatters the opposition, this was a very good game for us. Our defense was much better organized with players taking up good defensive positions and covering well for each other. Roan Gideon was particularly outstanding in a more central role, and he was ably supported by Golf Kaiya, Christian Marzullo and Alexa Colangelo. Hudson Kuras, worked tirelessly in midfield and was aptly rewarded with two well taken goals. Seb Barry also got his name on the score- sheet, coming on as sub and hitting the roof of the net with his first kick of the game. Again, much of our attacking threat came from the wing play of Kayleigh Bhangdia and once our forwards learn to deal with her well delivered crosses, we will be scoring many more goals. One particularly nice pull back from the goal line, was met by Griffin Wilson who thundered his low drive in to the bottom corner of the net! Once more, our passing game was well rewarded. Great job team!!
