Tennis v Maplebrook played on Wednesday April 8th, 2009

Although we only won one of our games out of 6 matches, it would be fair to say that despite the cold conditions, everyone was able to get an important early season game under their belt. There was indeed some encouraging play from a number of our players. Charlotte and Danielle were up against a very talented pair of older boys, but as a pair they played very well together and look good for some future wins in the the season. Paige and Maddie were certainly affected by the cold conditions but only narrowly lost a thrilling match by 6 games to 5. TJ and Zoe looked set for a win early in their game but were unable to put away their opposition. Heather and Abby were slow to get going in the cold weather but eventually got into their stride only to find themselves too far behind to get back into the game. Chelsea and Bernadette showed that they have improved since last year. however, they played some good opposition and were unable to make a strong impact on the result. Chelsea's serving was excellent though. Finally, Jack and Gavin demonstrated some good solid tennis strokes and ran out comfortable winners in our final match. Well done DDS tennis team for a great set of matches! Our next game is away @ Rumsey on Wednesday April 15th.
