Varsity Soccer Report v Rumsey School on Thursday October 4th
This game against Rumsey School was our toughest to date, but despite losing by the narrow margin of 2 - 0, we demonstrated that we can play some good soccer. Outstanding in goal was Danielle who made a number of fine saves, particularly in the second half when we were going forward in search of a goal but leaving our defense a little more exposed. The first half ended 0-0 but it was DDS who should have been one goal to the good with Sebastian just failing to hit the target with the goal at his mercy. The defense played magnificently throughout the game with fine performances from Roan, Christian, Alexa, Jon and Austin. The midfield battled bravely but it was our inability to get the ball through to the forwards that denied us chances on goal. Griffin went close to pulling one back in the second half but Rumsey's overall strength told in the end. Great effort from DDS.
