This match was a greatly improved showing over last year's meeting with Poughkeepsie Day School. P.D. took an early lead of three goals but DDS settled in and Alex scored unassisted in the first half. Andrew crossed a perfect pass to Christian for our second goal. Nick and Alex shared time as the goalkeeper and both boys had some excellent saves. DDS held P.D. to one goal in the second half due to some great one on one marking by our defense. Isabel, Maddie, Sawyer, Paige, Nick, and Taylor's strong defense, along with some excellent saves by Alex kept a very talented P.D. in check. We look forward to our next home match on Friday.
I'd like to especially thank our fans at this time for watching our games from the bleachers on the far side of the field. I am sure you also noticed how hard it was to keep track of the game and subbing when all 20+ Poughkeepsie Day Subs, parents, and the coach were standing not only right on the touch line (sideline) but in the field at times! I was surprised the official didn't address this problem sooner in the game, nor did he address the many different uniforms on the field. At the high school level, players with different colored socks and or shorts would not be allowed to play. So, keep on reminding your children to have their complete uniform on game days.
